HMNs: If you haven’t yet, check out Better Impact, the new Virginia Master Naturalists’ volunteer management system at MyImpactPage.com.
There you can:
- find a complete list, with descriptions, of all our approved activities (formerly called “projects”) through which you can get volunteer service credit
- find and sign up for any scheduled events that may be coming up for Chapter members
- and maybe most importantly, use it to record your hours.
If you have yet to get logged in for the first time, note that your username and password for the old VMN VMS will not work with this system. You should have received temporary login information from Stephanie Collins at Virginia Tech in an email around March 25. The subject says: “Welcome Better Impact Master Volunteers.” It could have landed in your spam box.
If you can’t find it, you can try to get your username/password through the log in page, by clicking on “Forgot your username or password?”.
Or ask me for a new temporary username/password and I will send it to you in an email. Let me know!
Please note: All your credit hours from before January 1, 2021, have been transferred into this new platform. But any hours you may have entered into the old volunteer management system anytime in 2021 need to be re-entered into Better Impact to count.
After getting logged in and updating your profile information (MY PROFILE -> Contact Information, Additional Info, and Interests), find all our currently approved projects/ activities under the menu item “OPPORTUNITIES.” “OPPORTUNITIES -> Opportunity List” gives you the whole list, while “OPPORTUNITIES -> Opportunity Calendar” shows you upcoming events.
Email me, your Better Impact VMN Liaison, Adrie Voors, at ahvoors [at] gmail.com if you need help getting logged in or have any other issues with this new system.
Try it, you’ll like it!
