Headwaters Chapter members are invited to submit photos you’ve taken anywhere in Virginia from anytime you were a Master Naturalist, that fit categories listed below. Submissions will be accepted through the end of June after which we will ask Chapter members to vote on their favorite in each category. This Chapter-wide contest will allow us to find our best entries for the VMN Statewide Contest being held before the VMN Conference in September.
Smart phone photos are fine; no fancy equipment needed.
We need your photos of
- VA Native Wildlife
- VA Native Plants/ Fungi
- Master Naturalists in Action
- VA Native Landscapes
- VA Native Macro and Night shots
Photo requirements also include the following:
- No identifiable kids’ images.
- Must be a minimum of 2200 pixels on its longest side.
- If wildlife, plant or macro photo, the main subject’s common and scientific names are needed.
- Date and location that photo was taken.
Submit photos to Adrie Voors at ahvoors [at] gmail [dot] com up until the end of day, Sunday, June 30.
No entry form needed, just send the above information in the email with the photo.
These will be posted to our public website, Headwatersmn.org, by category and shared to all members in early July for two weeks of voting via an online survey form allowing anonymous responses. Winners will be announced in the August issue of Headwaters Highlights.
All chapters’ entries and the VMN Statewide Photo Contest winners will be featured at the Annual VMN Conference here in September. Make our Chapter proud and show off our talents in capturing the beauty and positive activity around us!
